Communication text goes hereWe currently offer small group and one to one sessions with our communication therapist. She uses her years of experience in dealing with many issues to do with special needs children to tailor make sessions catering to individual or group needs. This ranges from learning to communicate in a group (turn-taking, waiting, joining in, listening skills, making choices), to homework support, to hand-eye coordination work and fine motor control improvement, to sensory integration play and help with oro-motor skills (to improve speech and feeding). She also offers a Tuesday lunch club to improve table skills, and will also give advice and support to families and liaise with third parties on behalf of families if necessary.
Social communication specialist – Sue King
Palace offers group and individual sessions on social communication issues. Sessions are arranged on invididual need by supporting children to undertake a task within an allotted time, turn taking, improve listening skills, making choices, to look at eye-hand co-ordination and fine motor skills. Group sessions also look at some sensory issues for the children and some activities to promote oral motor strengthening through exercises for speech production, feeding and general neck muscle strength are incorporated into the sessions.
